Ink jet ink is commonly used among those who use printers for art projects and other photo related uses. As the quality of the ink jet ink and the printers is well known, and proudly holds its title as the most commonly used type of printer and ink among home-owned printers. Advantages to Using It

Although the list of advantages for ink jet ink is not a great deal longer than the list of disadvantages, the advantages are clear and make the ink jet ink a very popular choice for many buyers. The biggest advantage to ink jet ink is the fact that it produces high quality work that makes the printed picture clear and bright. These printers are known for their high quality and fairly inexpensive cost.

While they are still expensive compared to the old-fashioned tradition of drawing by hand, these printers come at a cheaper price in comparison to laser jet printers or other printers that are used for quality pictures. Ink jet ink can be used for many things such as photo printing, scrap booking, printing images on cloth, and many other uses. These printers used with ink jet ink are notorious for their quiet nature; a welcome difference in comparison to older models and other types of printers that are noisy and obnoxious.

Disadvantages to Using It

Unfortunately, ink jet ink is commonly expensive when someone needs to purchase replacement ink jet ink cartridges. The cartridges are often an unexpected cost, and can be somewhat disappointing if the buyer isn't expecting the cost. Although ink jet ink dries quickly, it's notorious for smudging and bleeding when it comes into contact with water.

One complaint that is commonly heard among ink jet printer owners is the amount of time it takes for a printing job to be completed. While the quality is high, ink jet printer owners pay for the time, as the process can be drawn out, especially if the picture is detailed or particularly large.

Ink jet ink certainly has its advantages, but for those who need fast, archival quality projects completed, an ink jet printer may not be the best idea. Ink jet printers that use ink jet ink are cheaply priced, but at some cost to the buyer, with disadvantages such as smudging, expensive replacement cartridges and slow processing time. It mostly depends on the buyers needs in each situation as to whether or not one should use a printer that uses ink jet ink, or other type.
